This new 50p coin for 2020 has been struck by the Royal Mint to celebrate the contribution of ethnic minority communities to the history and culture of the United Kingdom.

The Diversity built Britain 50p coin was designed by Dominique Evans. The words ‘DIVERSITY BUILT BRITAIN’ are shown on a structure composed of interconnected triangles. The lines are linked to form a network to illustrate the importance of all of the parts forming a strong whole. The coin has been minted in a range of metals as usual, from “regular” uncirculated 50p coins through to more expensive silver and gold collector’s editions.
